You turn data into information by organizing it, structuring it, and analyzing it | Anne Torreggiani | ASA FORUM 2025

ASA FORUM 2025 was honored to host its keynote speaker - Anne Torreggiani, founder of The Audience Agency (UK), a leading think tank specialized in cultural research and policy. Her talk, “Measuring Cultural Value: A Data‑Driven Approach for a More Sustainable Future,” explored how solid evidence about audiences and participation can support better decision‑making, fairer funding, and more inclusive cultural offers.

You turn data into information by organizing it, structuring it, and analyzing it”, - she said during her presentation, - "To do this well, to really properly measure and articulate the value of culture, it's really important to have good audience data, good data about communities, good data about audiences, all those other bits and pieces don't really work unless you have the good audience data. If you want to generate ideas about cultural value, you have to know who is being affected and how. So this is why I have dedicated most of my working life to collecting data in such a way that we can use it for that.”
