Overview:

The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for a Research Fellow in the Department of Photography. This is a two-year, full-time grant-funded position, supported by the Carl Jacobs Foundation. The role involves assisting curatorial staff with various tasks, including maintaining collections records, bibliographic and biographical records, and conducting research in relation to the museum's vast photography collection of over 35,000 objects. Additional responsibilities include preparing checklists, wall labels, and cataloging the collection under the supervision of senior curatorial staff.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and prior experience in cataloging and research in a museum, gallery, or art-related institution, with a general familiarity with 20th-century art.
