Youth Perspectives
The voices of youth living in Armenia’s rural border villages are often unheard. This project focuses on capturing their stories, moving beyond the victimization lens often portrayed in the media. Through in-depth interviews, we explore how these young people view their role in maintaining peace and security on the border.

Landscapes and Environment
In addition to personal stories, the project captures the physical environment of Armenia’s border villages. Watercolor landscapes and environmental fragments highlight the everyday surroundings of these communities, emphasizing their resilience amidst conflict.
Craft and Tradition
Craft traditions, such as weaving, are integral to life in these communities. These practices not only connect the youth with their cultural heritage but also serve as a form of resilience and expression in challenging times.

Portraits of Border Villages
The project covers a wide geographic area, from Armenia’s northeast Tavush province to the southern Syunik region, visualizing life in villages that share borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey. These images document daily life and the ongoing struggles faced by residents in these communities.
Strength and Community
The youth in Armenia’s border villages embody strength, solidarity, and hope for the future. Despite living in areas affected by conflict, their sense of community and resilience is palpable. Through their stories and shared experiences, they demonstrate a commitment to staying rooted in their homeland, protecting their culture, and building a brighter future.
